Dr Sanjeeva Nayaka

Dr Sanjeeva Nayaka is a well-known lichenologist of India.He has over 20 years of experience.
He has discovered 28 lichen species as new to science and reported over 100 species as new to India.
Dr Sanjeeva Nayaka revised the genus Lecanora s. l. for his doctoral thesis at CSIR-NBRI under the supervision of Dr D.K. Upreti and obtained PhD degree from Dr. RML Avadh University, Faizabad.
He has authored/edited 3 books. His research interest includes taxonomy, biomonitoring and bioprospecting of lichens.

Dr Siljo Joseph

CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow
Dr Siljo Joseph started his research on lichens in 2009 with his master’s dissertation on “Studies on the lichen flora of the Nilgiri hills, Tamil Nadu”.
He was awarded PhD in Botany (Lichenology) from Bharathiar University.
He received the prestigious DST INSPIRE Faculty Fellowship from the Indian National Science Academy. He is an Honorary Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Biological Sciences in the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Govt. of India.
His primary research focuses on biogeography, conservation, ecology, systematics and e- monography of the lichen group Arthoniales in India. He is keen on developing web-based applications and programs for the identification of lichens.

Students will be given preference
COVID Mandate: Participants must either be fully vaccinated and produce their vaccination certificates. Or produce a negative RtPcr report not older than 72 hours.
