Ashok is interested in investigating patterns of species distribution and diversification of snakes and other herpetofauna.

As part of his doctoral work he described a new genus of vine snake, Proahaetulla antiqua.

Herpetofauna of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Dr.S.R. Chandramouli

Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Pondicherry University
Chandramouli has been working on various aspects ranging from systematics, taxonomy, ecology, distribution and conservation of reptiles and amphibians in peninsular India and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands since the past two decades.
He has rediscovered a few reptile and amphibian species and also discovered two new species of amphibians and four lizards.

Herpetofauna of North East India

Dr. H.T. Lalremsanga

Department of Zoology, Mizoram University

H.T. Lalremsanga has been working on reptiles and amphibians in Mizoram, Northeast India for the past two decades.

His work has resulted in new records, discovery and rediscovery of few reptile,fish, and amphibian species for the state as well as for the country. He has published more than 80 scientific articles, short communications, chapters and books.

Jignasu Dolia (Jigu)

MSc.Wildlife Biology and Conservation-CWS&NCBS

Jigu has been carrying out research on the distribution and nesting ecology of King Cobras (Ophiophagus hannah) in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand.

Having monitored 22 King Cobra nests so far over a decade, Jigu is trying to understand the evolutionary significance of this unique nest-building behaviour, while also ensuring that this endangered and charismatic snake does not disappear from our forests.

Snakes of Western India

Krunal Trivedi

Project Coordinator, Nature Club Surat
Krunal has been carrying out research on Smooth-coated otters in South Gujarat and also part of IUCN Otter Specialist Group.

He has a keen interest in herpetology and has worked on the Spatial ecology project of Indo-Chinese Spitting Cobra and Monocled Cobra in Thailand.

Apart from herpetofauna research, he is also working on multiple human-animal conflict projects in Gujarat.
